Memorial Service to break silence on suicide
Wesley Mission LifeForce will hold a Memorial Day Service for people touched by the tragic circumstances of suicide in Newcastle this Thursday.
The Memorial Day Service will bring people together in a spirit of comfort and hope, allowing them the space to grieve and reflect.
For every suicide death there are at least fifteen immediate family members and friends whose lives are changed forever,” said Rev Keith Garner, CEO of Wesley Mission, Sydney.
LifeForce Ambassadors
"I feel privileged to be a part of the LifeForce Advisory Committee. It is a team of committed, energetic and passionate people who want to make a difference. It's not just talking about preventing suicide but coming up with strategies and practical ways of saving people's lives."
- Jessica Rowe
News Presenter and LifeForce Advisory Committee Member
"Although it has been 17 years since my beloved younger brother John took his life, it took me 16 years to talk publicly about his death and the effect on our family of his suicide.
The LifeForce service was very significant for me. It was the first time I'd faced a living, breathing audience and I found it profoundly moving, being able to see and hear others who'd been down the dark road of losing family members to suicide. I am grateful and honoured to have been a part of the service."

ABC Radio Presenter and Guest Speaker at the 2003 LifeForce Memorial day
